What induction actually involves, before you have to decide
One in three labours in this country is induced. An honest hour with midwife Emma Rajakrishnen on why it happens, what your real chances are, and what you are allowed to ask for.

Enter your name, email and phone number, and you'll get the joining link immediately.
In this free session we will talk about:
- Why induction gets offered, and the real reason behind each one
- What a Bishop Score is, why nobody tells you yours, and how it changes your odds
- What actually happens at each stage, from sweep to pessary to waters to drip
- How long it really takes, honestly, for a first baby and for a second
- Your realistic chance of a vaginal birth, and what you can ask for at every point
Who this is for
This probably is not for you if this is your fourth baby, you have been induced before and you found it straightforward. You already know most of this. It is also not for you if you would rather not think about it and turn up and be guided, which is a real choice and I will not try to talk you out of it. It is for you if you have been given a date and no explanation. If you are on a consultant-led pathway for diabetes, blood pressure, your age or a baby measuring small, and you can feel a conversation coming. Or if you are earlier than all of that and simply want to understand before anyone asks you to decide.
